Trade war uncertainty could cost global economy $585 billion

According to a report by Bloomberg Economics’ Dan Hanson, Jamie Rush and Tom Orlik, uncertainty over commerce could decrease world gross home product by 0.6% in 2021, relative to a situation with no commerce war. That’s double the direct impression of the tariffs themselves and the equal of $585 billion off the International Monetary Fund’s estimated world GDP of $97 trillion in 2021.

Health remains key challenge in India’s development: Ram Nath Kovind

“We are challenged by the triple burden of communicable, non-communicable and new and emerging diseases. Lack of access to health services, malnutrition and neglected tropical diseases place severe constraints on us. Our Government remains committed to tackle these through the flagship Ayushmaan Bharat programme and other health missions. Our problems are complex and intertwined with our larger socio-economic challenges,” he said while addressing a gathering on the occasion of the golden jubilee celebrations of the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (MGIMS) here.
