IRDAI fines ICICI Lombard Gen and TATA AIG Gen Rs 1 crore each for violating regulations

“it is noted that ICICI Lombard General Insurer continued selling issuing Group Personal Accident policies with policy term of more than one year even after 1st July, 2013 and individual Personal Protect policies with policy term of more than 3 years even after 1st October, 2013, in spite of both the products not meeting the maximum policy term criteria as prescribed in the IRDA (Health Insurance) Regulations, 2013 and even after taking a certificate based approval from the IRDAI on modifying the product term in accordance to the IRDA (Health Insurance) Regulations,2013,’’ said IRDA in its rulings against the company.

Facebook will pay $550 million to settle a lawsuit that claimed it illegally stored user data

Facebook said it had 2.89 billion monthly active users of its products around the world, but growth stagnated in the US and Canada on the main social network — the primary source of advertising sales. Monthly active users hit 2.5 billion on the main network as of Dec. 31, slightly topping analysts’ estimate of 2.49 billion.

That’s particularly the case with coronaviruses: The 2015 outbreak of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome in South Korea took place almost entirely within healthcare settings, with just a handful of transmissions outside of hospitals. About a fifth of people who caught Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome worldwide were healthcare workers. That share rises further if you include patients who were infected in hospitals and clinics.
