COVID-19: India reports 26,624 new cases with 341 fatalities

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 95,80,402 pushing the national recovery rate to 95.51 per cent, while the COVID-19 case fatality rate stands at 1.45 per cent.

The COVID-19 active caseload remained below 4 lakh for the 14th consecutive day.

There are 3,05,344 active coronavirus infections in the country which comprises 3.04 per cent of the total caseload, the data stated.

IMA moves SC on allowing Ayurvedic docs to perform surgeries

The central government had allowed PG students of Ayurveda to perform various kinds of general surgery and medical procedures, including orthopaedic, ophthalmology, ENT and dental, by notifying an amendment in a gazette notification the CCIM issued in November.

The latest amendment allows PG Ayurveda students to receive formal training for such procedures. The training modules for surgical procedures will be added to the curriculum of Ayurvedic studies.

Infosys to prefer flexible ‘hybrid’ work model for employees in view of pandemic

Parekh said that going forward the company will focus on putting in place a hybrid work model as it will depend on how the situation evolves. “However, the flexibility will remain critical,” he said.

There will be flexibility in the models that will allow employee work from different locations at different times, he added.
