58 million Indians living without pension: Survey

According to National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), a welfare programme administered by the Ministry of Rural Development, 80 million elderly people in India are entitled to a pension of Rs 200 per month This meagre amount reaches only about 22.3 million people, Pension Parishad Coordinator, Nikhil Dey said. 

Kerala floods not to impact profitability of non-life insurers:AM Best

A.M. Best expects fire and motor to be the most impacted lines of business. Motor own damage is one of the leading sources of business, accounting for 30 per cent of gross premiums in the state. Four large insurers, which wrote an estimated 70% of Kerala’s gross non-life premiums in 2017, are likely to absorb the majority of claims.
