India’s COVID-19 caseload rises to 97.35 lakh; recoveries cross 92 lakh
The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 92,15,581, pushing the national recovery rate to 94.66 per cent, while the COVID-19 case fatality rate stood at 1.45 per cent.
There are 3,78,909 active coronavirus infections in the country now which comprises 3.89 per cent of the total caseload, the data stated.
The COVID-19 active caseload remained below four lakh for the third consecutive day.

Till now 91,78,946 have recovered, while there are 3,83,866 active cases.
The recovery rate stands at 94.59 per cent, and the fatality rate is 1.45 as per cent.
Maharashtra continues to be the worst-hit state with 18,55,341 cases till date. Over 70 per cent of the daily new cases were reported by 10 states and UT — Maharashtra, Delhi, West Bengal, Haryana, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh.
Not worried about budget deficit as spending up to support economy: FM
“As regards the coming year, we need to do an assessment,” she said ahead of the next fiscal year’s budget due Feb. 1. “I’m not sure that I can immediately curtail expenditure. It will have to be a careful balance because the momentum that the economy gains should be sustained.”
