India reports 259,551 new coronavirus infections,deaths rise by 4,209

Health Ministry Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal on Thursday, said a continuous decline in the Covid-19 active cases has been noted in the last 15 days.

“From being 17.13 per cent reported on May 3, the active cases now comprise 12.1 per cent of the country’s total infections. A positive trend in recovery has also been noted. The recovery rate which was 81.7 per cent on May 3 has increased to 86.7 now,” said Health Ministry Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal..

West Bengal, Odisha prepare for possible cyclone storm hitting east coast

”There is no confirmed information that the cyclone will make landfall on the Odisha coast. We have received some preliminary reports from IMD which predicted a possible cyclonic storm in Odisha-West Bengal coast on May 26,” Jena told reporters after the meeting.
