The Lok Adalat was held on Sunday and in one case, there was a settlement worth Rs 95 lakh between a private insurance company and the family of a man who died in a road accident in 2013, Principal District and Sessions Judge Anil Pansare told reporters. In 174 cases, the settlement was done online in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, he said.

The country may see a worsening of its outbreak as soon as this month, with the next wave peaking in the best-case scenario with less than 100,000 infections a day, or nearly 150,000 in the worst scenario, according to estimates by researchers led by Mathukumalli Vidyasagar and Manindra Agrawal at Indian Institute of Technology in Hyderabad and Kanpur respectively.
States with high Covid rates, such as Kerala and Maharashtra, could “skew the picture,” Vidyasagar told Bloomberg in an email.

Out of 541 delayed projects, 109 projects have overall delay in the range of 1-12 months, 119 (13-24 months), 192 (25-26 months) and 121 projects (61 months and above).
The average time overrun in these 541 delayed projects is 45.76 months.
Reasons for time overruns as reported by various project implementing agencies include delay in land acquisition, delay in obtaining forest and environment clearances, and lack of infrastructure support and linkages.
