 Over 100 liver transplantations done in 10 years: ILBS

According to Pamecha, around two-thirds of the children were transplanted for chronic liver diseases, the common cause of which is biliary atresia — where the bile ducts are blocked with absent bile flow.

Rest one-third of the children were transplanted for acute liver failure, which is commonly due to hepatitis A virus, where the liver rapidly deteriorates in a previously healthy child within a few days to weeks, he noted.

COVID-19: India records 18,599 new cases, 97 fresh fatalities

Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Karnataka, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu are the six states that cumulatively account for 86.25 per cent of the new coronavirus cases reported in the past 24 hours, the Health Ministry said on Monday.

Maharashtra has reported the highest daily new cases at 11,141, followed by Kerala with 2,100 and Punjab with 1,043 new infections, the ministry said.

Delhi Govt to provide scrapping incentives under Delhi EV Policy: Gadkari

The Delhi Government order issued on February 25, 2021 in this regard mandates conversion of all vehicles owned/leased by the Government of NCT of Delhi to transition to electric by Aug 6, 2021, the minister said. ”Under the Delhi EV Policy, 2020 —scrapping incentive is provided for the vehicles in lieu of scrapping a more polluting conventional vehicle.

Crisil not sure about strength of credit qualit

Maintaining a cautiously optimistic outlook on credit quality for the near to medium-term, a Crisil director Akshay Chitgopekar said they are watching the normalisation of economic activity, agriculture performance and rural demand, the flow of investments into infrastructure to gauge the level and sustainability of the recovery seen from last October.

A second wave of the pandemic, especially with mutations that undermine the effectiveness of current vaccines, leading to containment measures can derail the ongoing recovery, he warned.
